We have just arrived home from our second wonderful stay at Coastal Path Cottage. The weather wasn’t kind to us but it honestly doesn’t matter when you have such a lovely place to stay and totally dog friendly. We love coming here, the views and walks are amazing. We can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you for having us.

Our second visit here (and I can only apologise for not having left a review last time!!) and it was just as lovely the second time around. We love the cottage, the amazing gardens, the views and the peace and quiet, and Gordon & Sarah are incredibly friendly and helpful. It's just the place for a relaxing break away from it all, and comes highly recommended by us! The local pizza emporium is excellent as well!

I last visited in November 2018 and was overwhelmed by how wonderful the cottage and location was. Due to covid and other commitments it wasn’t until April 2022 I was able to return.I was prepared for having a wonderful break again but not quite prepared for the wonderful changes that had been made to the cottage grounds in particular. There is now a wonderful outside cabin with log burner and fairy lights to sit and while away an evening watching the glorious sunsets over the moors and sea. The cottage now has a larger enclosed outside space for the dogs to enjoy whilst you sit with a morning coffee looking out to sea and across to wales. There are also so many wonderful beaches, towns and woodlands to visit within a short distance. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well equipped with everything for the comfort of human and canine alike. After being again overwhelmed by this perfect north devon holiday home I will not be making the same mistake of leaving it so long before my next visit.

  • We stayed during October half term 2021. The property is clean, bright, comfortable and so well equipped. The kitchen is simply amazing, you could want for nothing. The weather wasn’t great but the views were still breathtaking. We enjoyed watching Swansea twinkling over the sea whilst cozied up by the roaring fire. We did some amazing walks straight from the door. This is such a well situated property and extremely dog friendly. Thanks Sarah and Gordon, we’ll be back!

  • We visited Coastal Path Cottage in the October 2020 half term. It's such a wonderful tranquil place to visit. Sarah and Gordon are wonderful hosts and we couldn't have asked for more in the cottage - everything has been thought of - even an outside freezer in the garage to make sure we had enough freezer space for our dog food!

There are amazing sea views, the children and dog loved the huge garden and outside log cabin with fairy lights. Coastal walks right on the doorstep or a short drive to local beaches. Our favourite will always be Woolacombe beach.

We'll be back to see you again soon hopefully.

  • We have had the pleasure of staying in Coastal Path Cottage twice and Moorlands to Sea once and absolutely love both. The accomodation is perfect, the views sublime and the walks from the door and in local areas are amazing. Feel totally relaxed as soon as we arrive right through to the time we leave, and we always ensure that when we leave we have another visit already booked to make leaving slightly less painful lol ;)

  • The most idyllic location with moor and sea views. Wonderful fully enclosed gardens and a superb and incredibly well equipped cottage. Doggy and human heaven...cannot recommend enough .

  • We love Moorlands and have stayed at both Moorlands to Sea and Coastal Path Cottage. Completely dog friendly and a wonderful base to relax in and visit all glorious North Devon has to offer. Love it and can’t wait to come back

  • After seeing the gorgeous photos of Moorlands to Sea on Facebook via a dog friendly page, we decided to take the plunge and book a weeks holiday in May with our 6yr old Schnauzer.
On arrival we were greeted to a very warm welcome by the owners Sarah and Gordon Baxter, who I’m delighted to say have since become firm friends. They, their dogs, the house, and the location did not disappoint us or Tilly. We all instantly relaxed into holiday life, with such an amazing outlook over the ‘Moorlands to Sea’ who couldn’t. In fact we loved our holiday so much we booked to return next year with our daughter and family before we’d even left!

  • Our third stay in this wonderful cottage with fabulous views and walks from the door. Quiet and away from it all. All you could want is there, comfortable and warm. Very dog friendly, throws, bowls, towels provided. Sarah and Gordon, the owners, are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you both for another great holiday, see you again soon.

  • The garden sea views just have to be seen to be believed - the best place to come 'home' to at the end of a busy day exploring. Every comfort has been considered in this beautiful place and the owners were very welcoming. My husband's favourite way to end the day was sat in the garden, with his G&T and the telescope looking out for the boats! Perfect, we hope to be back!

  • Best holiday home I have ever stayed in. From the warm welcome, to the nice touches, sky sports, everything is thought off. A proper home from home, with fantastic ever changing views and great walks from the door. Our four legged friends loved it and rain or shine a great base to explore this beautiful part of England.

  • Our second wonderful stay at Moorlands and next year is already booked. This is the perfect place to stay if you like great accommodation with fantastic views. Sarah and Gordon are lovely hosts and make you feel very welcome. Great if you have dogs as the garden is very secure. Situated on the dramatic North Devon coast within Exmoor National Park, Moorlands is close to several stunning beaches and beautiful countryside walks. The property has excellent facilities making it a home from home. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return!

  • Fabulous holiday accommodation. Views from the bungalow are to die for . Moorlands at Sea is very well equipped and so comfy. There is plenty of room and furnished to a very high standard. AND very dog friendly. There are many walks from the property to the coastal path and it is so near things to do. We went on the speedboat safari and kayaking. The owners are helpful and friendly. A good time was had by us all.

  • What a fantastic cottage in a great location. North Devon is beautiful and this cottage is in the ideal location for exploring this part of Devon. Fabulous and would definitely recommend for small families.
The cottage is fully enclosed with a safe garden for dogs and children, we have 2 dogs and it is certainly dog friendly as are the owners. The cottage is modern, spacious, clean and has everything in it that is required for a holiday away.
The owners are lovely, very welcoming and on site if needing anything, they have good recommendations for decent walks and nice places to go to locally for eating, drinking and walking.
There are a lot of nice places like local towns and villages to go to generally within a 20 minute drive. All places we have been to are dog friendly including many restaurants, pubs and cafes.
I am certain we will book to stay again.
